I can barely believe this is real, multicoloured corn kernels in a single ear of corn. Great story on Edible Geography. Each colour is different nutritionally, yellow is the most vitamin rich.

Luckily for me the boyfriend is one of those unfortunate people that likes puns. Had to keep this under wraps until his birthday. Purchased here
Laser cut food
OK, this is insane. I&S BBDO had been approached by a nori company severely affected by last year’s tsunami in Japan for help with product design. And their solution was to laser cut traditional patterns in the nori sheets. Is this the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?
I can imagine it crumbling in my hands if I attempted to handle it, you would really have to hold your breath. Via
Best enjoyed while wearing this incredible cream leather laser cut skirt by Fendi, Spring/Summer 2009.
Very annoyed that I couldn’t ind any close ups of the intricate pattern, the skirt is available here for a cool £1970.

Unertl Weisse Hell
Unertl Weisse Hell, served at Quinn’s, 65 Kentish Town Road, London NW1 8NY (my favorite pub in the world). Very creepy to wake up next to this the day after St Patrick’s – but no regrets.

Black pepper substitutes
This article on the obsequiousness of black pepper got me thinking. The spices above can be mixed to create a complex alternative heat that is not overtly spicy. And non allergenic.
Clockwise from top: papaya seeds, red peppercorns, nigella seeds, mustard seeds, grains of paradise.
